Dodge Family BBQ

Sunday, March 24, 2013 0 comments

After Baby B's shoot the Dodge family invited me to their BBQ to take pictures and eat. Now I love taking pictures but you throw in Walter's great BBQ and I just can't refuse. We managed to take some great photos and eat all before it started to storm.

The Dodge Family

Nothing like swinging on the rope swing at the grandparents house.

It was perfect weather for a fire.

BBQ Chef Master Walter hard at work.

Lovin' the fire and the food.

Even CJ was enjoying the fire.

It was a great night eating BBQ, hanging out by the fire, and chatting with this family.

Three weeks ago a good friend of mine became a grandma again for the fourth time. She called and asked if I could take pictures of her little grandbaby. Of course I was very honored. Here is a sneak peak from our shoot yesterday. I had to do storyboards because I just couldn't decide which ones to post. :) Enjoy Baby B's photos.

It's a Boy!

ASHR Volunteer and Adopter Day

The 2nd Annual ASHR Volunteer and Adopter Day

Last year my husband and I meet a wonderful group of people from Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue (ASHR). They work around the clock saving Siberian Huskies from shelters and finding them new, loving homes. I was interested in helping out a dog rescue and spoke with April Mitchem, the president of ASHR about the possibility of taking pictures for them. I know that most people get their first impression of these dogs by looking at pictures on the web. So thought if I could provide great pictures of these dogs it might help their chances of an earlier adoption. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with each and every dog.

In the two years this rescue has been open they have adopted out 49 dogs! What an amazing statistic. Currently they have 12 dogs up for adoption. If you are interested please go to their web page and fill out a form. http://alsiberianhuskyrescue.com Since this is an all volunteer organization they are always looking for great folks to perform home visits, foster huskies, dog transport, or a myriad of other activities. Please e-mail info@alsiberianhuskyrescue.com if you are interested in helping.

Branigan is up for adoption. He is a sweet boy and would make a great addition to your family.

This past weekend the volunteers, adopters, and dogs all got together to hang out and share stories. It was amazing how 30 dogs all got along so well. It was like they knew they were part of a big family. And you know what? They are right. A great time was had by all. I hope we can get together again very soon.

Mardi Gras in Mobile

Thursday, February 7, 2013 0 comments
Last weekend Tim and I decided at the last moment to head down to Mobile for one of the daytime Mardi Gras parades. So we loaded up the camera gear into the car and headed down to have a great day in Mobile. Here are a few of the photographs we took. Hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them.

Kids and dogs alike were waiting patiently for the start of the parade.

Lots of vendors were out helping the crowd get into a festive spirit.

The theme for this parade was Reality TV. Can you guess the float shows?

The parade had lots of different types of music and dancing. This little girl was strutting her stuff and working that umbrella!

Characters were definitely not in short supply at this event!

It seems like everyone in Mobile showed up today. Even the Marines were out getting into the Mardi Gras spirit.

There was something for everyone in Mobile that day. I even came away with a Valentine bear, Pirates of the Caribbean DVD, Moon Pie, and LOTS of beads. Can't wait until next year. Maybe we will try a night time parade. What do you think? What are some of your best Mardi Gras memories? (Please keep this kid friendly)

Here we go!

Welcome to my new blog! I am very excited to be able to now share sneak peaks, new products, specials, helpful tips, and other random thoughts all on this blog. It has been a crazy adventure over the last two years trying to get my photography business off the ground. First I would like to thank my wonderful husband Tim. He has been very supportive and willing to help out with anything I have needed to include helping me on a shoot, editing photos, and any of my crazy and sometimes last minute ideas for this business. He is truly my right hand man and I could not have done this without him. I would also like to thank Terica West, my friend and graphic artist. It is her work behind the scenes that makes my business look good. It is her beautiful artwork that you see in my logo, this blog design, my flyers, etc. And to Evette Haughton, you are a wonderful friend. Your willingness to always help me out with events, loaning me items for shoots, sending me great ideas, and everything else you do for me is truly a gift. Finally, I want to thank all my family and friends for their support. You guys have been great at letting me use you to bounce ideas off, as models, and telling every one about my business. I am looking forward to sharing the fun that lies ahead in my continuing photography adventures!
