The 2nd Annual ASHR Volunteer and Adopter Day
Last year my husband and I meet a wonderful group of people from Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue (ASHR). They work around the clock saving Siberian Huskies from shelters and finding them new, loving homes. I was interested in helping out a dog rescue and spoke with April Mitchem, the president of ASHR about the possibility of taking pictures for them. I know that most people get their first impression of these dogs by looking at pictures on the web. So thought if I could provide great pictures of these dogs it might help their chances of an earlier adoption. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with each and every dog.
In the two years this rescue has been open they have adopted out 49 dogs! What an amazing statistic. Currently they have 12 dogs up for adoption. If you are interested please go to their web page and fill out a form. http://alsiberianhuskyrescue.com Since this is an all volunteer organization they are always looking for great folks to perform home visits, foster huskies, dog transport, or a myriad of other activities. Please e-mail info@alsiberianhuskyrescue.com if you are interested in helping.
Branigan is up for adoption. He is a sweet boy and would make a great addition to your family. |
This past weekend the volunteers, adopters, and dogs all got together to hang out and share stories. It was amazing how 30 dogs all got along so well. It was like they knew they were part of a big family. And you know what? They are right. A great time was had by all. I hope we can get together again very soon.
