Project 10 Blog Circle - Post 1

Thursday, August 8, 2013 0 comments
I am part of a group of fabulous female photographers on Facebook. We are all in various stages of learning about our craft. Everyone is so helpful and supportive and I am glad to be a part of this special group. We have been trying to find a project to help spark our creativity. We have decided to create our own Project 10 Blog Circle. So how does this work you might ask. On the 9th of every month we will post our 10 favorite photographs from that month on our blog. We will then link to the next person in our list. This way we can easily share what we have been working on over the last 30 days. Enjoy the photos and please check out all of my friends blogs and leave them some love. Have a great weekend!

This month's photos are from the Fourth of July, my trip to Atlanta, a swim meet, a picture of my son and his girlfriend, and our annual Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue Volunteer Pool Party.

Birthday Triplets at the Beach

Tuesday, June 25, 2013 0 comments

The day following the triplets first birthday party we met at the beach for their one year portraits. I noticed the weather forecast called for sporadic thunder showers. Looking out the window it was just partly cloudy so we headed to the beach. The cloud cover helped keep it cooler and was just perfect.

The cutest triplets ever!
Halfway into the photo shoot it started to sprinkle. So we loaded the kids up and headed to one of the pavilions. Just as we reached cover the sky opened up and it started to pour rain.
Cheer up kids. A little bit of rain can't stop our photo shoot!

So what do you do when your plans drastically change? Make the best of the situation and just keep shooting.

And the kids had a blast playing under the safety of the pavilion.

How cute are these two playing peak-a-boo?
The kids were such troopers to not only leave the house early but to adjust to our changing plans. I hope to get back to Florida soon so I can hang out with these great kids again.

Today I had the honor of photographing these triplets first birthday party. We were afraid they were going to sleep through their party but they finally woke up. WHEW! I can't wait to do their first birthday portrait shoot at the beach tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDEN, EMMA, and KHLOE!

The birthday crew.

Having fun in the sun!

On July 20, 1987 Chris King joined the Air Force. His assignments took him to Panama, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Italy, South Carolina, Texas, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Florida. Chris also received numerous awards throughout his career to included Training Manager of the Year twice, NCO and SNCO of the Year, as well as First Sergeant of the Year twice. He has helped countless Airmen and made many friends along his Air Force journey.

Chris and I have been stationed together twice. It was during my first duty assignment to Offutt AFB at the 544th Target Material Squadron that we first met. We wound up working the swing shift together and he helped show me the ropes. Although it seems like only yesterday it was 24 years ago. I could never fully thank him for his friendship and support over the years. Good luck on your new civilian adventure. I know that whatever lies ahead you will tackle it with the same perseverance and enthusiasm as you did while you were in the Air Force. I miei migliori auguri. Ciao!

Summer time in the garden

Today we did a beauty shoot with this lovely lady. I had been looking for someone to do a summer time theme with dresses, sandals, and hats and she was perfect. Despite the threat of rain, heat, and humidity she hung in there, kept on smiling, and seriously rocked this shoot. I am looking forward to working with her again.

Introducing Ella!

I had the pleasure of meeting a very sweet little girl today. Her grandmother is a coworker and friend and asked if I would come out to the hospital to take pictures of her granddaughter. Ella was so good considering I was in her face snapping away. I can't wait to photograph her again in a few weeks. Enjoy this quick sneak peak from her shoot today.

Back to School: Part 1

For the next few months I am working on a special back to school project. Some of my friends have graciously allowed us to use their adorable kids as models. I will be using these photos to announce a Back to School photo special at the end of July. So keep your eyes peeled both here and on Facebook. You won't want to miss out on these great special offers. These little boys were so well behaved with everything I asked them to do. And as a result we got some great photos of them today. I want to thank Beth who helped me out today as my husband had to work. All in all it was a great day.

Thinking about his ABC's and 123s.

OOOH! PICK ME! PICK ME! PICK ME!

Checking out the bug on the stone path. Got to love inquisitive boys!

BUBBLES! I am not sure who had more fun here. The adults blowing the bubbles, me taking pictures of the kids with the bubbles, or the kids playing with the bubbles.

Fighting the bubbles. Wonder who is winning?

I just love the look of pure joy on his face. I can't wait to get to photograph these sweet boys again!
